Program areas at Promoting Health in Haiti
PHH sponsors, and provides funds, faculty, and curriculum expertise to the State University of Haiti to provide both a bachelors and a masters level Nurse Practitioner program for the University. The funds are provided to the University for classroom space, security, and utilities. PHH also pays for the four month clinical training for all students. The University confers degrees on the graduating students. PHH provides teachers and curriculum.
Faculty and officers from the USA travel to Haiti to teach and assist with the program. All travel is paid by PHH. Housing and board are included plus all in country travel and security.
Promoting Health in Haiti educates graduates of our program at the State University of New York, Downstate, via an on line program. Two students are currently in the online Doctor of Nursing Practice Program. PHH also supports graduate nurse practitioners in clinics throughout Haiti.
