The Kennedy House was established July 2014, Rehabilitation began immediately: from one bedroom, three partial bedroom walls were contructed to house a total of four Veteran residents. Construction was provided by donations, ie: APS Electric Co., AZ Water, SW Gas, CAHRA and Habitat for Humanity. 3 F Foundation provided gardening hoses, timer planting, and taught Veterans when to plant the garden, how to maintain and harvest it. OHOP Warehouse Food Pantry beqan 2015. Both perishable and non-perishable foods are distributed to Veterans andthe community twice per month. One food box is estimated to feed a family of 3-4 aproximately 2-3 days. Food is purchased from United Food Bank in Phoenix. What OHOP receives depends upon the product UFB has available. Delivery may include fruit, vegetables or baked goods. We also provide emergency food boxes. The Food Pantry had to relocate in December 2017. QHOP Veteran Center began 2012. This is a place for Veterans to meet 1:1 and build that comradery they once had in service. Every Tuesday is Veterans’ Coffee gathering with coffee, baked goods, fruit, etc. available. Once per month a full breakfast is served at them. Handmade quilts and afghans are donated and given at no charge to the Veterans living in the Kennedy House female Veterans and to homeless Veterans. We have seen lives changed through this center and hope xrestored to some Veterans who were forgotten, with little or no hope..
