Founded in 1996 by cnn hero, dr. michelle christie, No Limits for deaf children is the only afterschool program in the country that provides individual therapy, literacy, academics, stem, Theater arts, teen and mentoring program and parent education and support, at No cost to the families. No Limits has performed in over 180 productions nationwide, with an outreach of 1,000,000 in 14 states. No Limits for deaf children has had the distinct honor of making history by performing at the prestigious john f. kennedy center for the performing arts and the historic venue, carnegie hall in new york city.the No Limits program was extended beyond the theatrical arts to provide individual auditory, speech, and language training year-round with the opening of the first No Limits educational center in 2002. The center serves school-age deaf children and families who are unable to find assistance elsewhere. The after-school center offers individual therapy, literacy classes, academic tutoring, stem, music and arts enrichment, and a leadership and mentoring academy for deaf teens. Additionally, No Limits provides weekly parent education classes to help families learn the tools and resources to best help their child with a hearing loss through their school age years. Other recipients included astronaut scott glenn and judge rehnquist. *No Limits was featured on oprah as a positive, uplifting program for deaf children. *No Limits has been the subject of four documentaries for its revolutionary techniques in teaching deaf and hard of hearing children and has been featured on cnn, nbc, abc and newspapers and magazines across the country including a three page spread in newsday, the new york times, westside life, the new jersey star ledger, parents magazine and the hollywood reporter. *No Limits was named "best arts program in the country" by parents magazine. *No Limits was honored as one of the "top 100 heroes" in the country by the volvo for life committee.*dr. Michelle christie received the "megan cooper leadership award" by executive service corps for excellent governance and leadership in a nonprofit organization.*dr. Michelle christie won the heide mengel award by john tracy clinic. *No Limits was named the "best nonprofit organization" for children with disabilities by the culver city disability council. *No Limits received the culver city award for "excellent leadership" in the community. *No Limits was honored with a "special recognition award" by the California educators for the deaf. *No Limits received the "service to mankind award" by sertoma organization. *No Limits is proud to perform at carnegie hall. *No Limits received a proclamation from the los angeles county board of supervisors commending No Limits on its outstanding contributions to los angeles residents. *in 2020, dr. christie received the commendation for her work with deaf childrend from the culver city disability advisory council. *in 2021, No Limits celebrates 25 years of impacting underserved deaf children and families worldwide. *in 2021, No Limits has been recognized on april 17th as No Limits for deaf children's day (the day of its founding) for the impact it has had on the community.
