Nebraska-Iowa Kiwanis District Foundation

Camp OK is a one-week residential camp program for 5th and 6th graders who are financially in need. The students are selected by local school guidance counselors and sponsored by local Kiwanis clubs to attend the camp for talented and gifted children. It is a life changing experience for most of the 100 children who attend the camp each year.

The Key Leader Program offers to young high school students leadership training over a weekend at no cost to them. Each student learns an important lesson of leadership, that leadership comes from helping others succeed.

Multiple grants to Kiwanis clubs in Nebraska and Iowa for local projects impacting children in a positive way within their communities. Only one grant exceeded $5,000. Fourteen grants were paid out during the fiscal year. Each year applications for grant monies are received semiannually and reviewed by the Executive Committee. A portion or all of the request may be approved or denied. A record is maintained of the applications and the Kiwanis clubs are requested to submit follow up information regarding the completion of the project and the use of the funds granted to them.
