Program areas at National Ecumenical Forum for Filipino Concerns Ie
The Philippine-American Intercultural School-Inland Empire (PAIS-IE) Phase 1 was conducted during the period October 15 - December 18, 2021. Phase 1 consisted of 11 sessions, each lasting 4 hours in a hybrid (face-to-face and vistual) format. Each session was led by a facilitator/teacher. Each session was attended by approximately 20 students/participants The sessions were conducted in multiple locations within the Inland Empire. The purpose of the PAIS-IE is tobuild power among the Filipino-American community and solidarity allies through leadership development, healing and transformative change for health equity and safety in response to anti-Asian/Pacific Islander hate iin the Inland Empire.
The September 14 California recall election was an opportunity for NEFFCON-IE to conduct outreach and urge Filipinos and Fil-Ams to exercise their freedom and make their voices heard. This is part of being called to Faithful Citizenship and promoting the common good. NEFFCON-IE was able to write articles and post on social media reaching out to 70,035 individuals and attended 5 other live events additionally reaching out to 14,435 individuals.
From June 2021 through October 2021, NEFFCON-IE participated in the Redistricting Campaign because throguh involvement, the voice of the Filipino-American community in the Inland Empire can be concretized with the Brown & Black Redistricting Alliance. This resulted in developing about a dozen written Communities of Interest (COI) testimonies from various Filipino-American individuals making personal statement in front of the Riverside and San Bernardino County Supervisors' public hearing sessions. NEFFCON-IE also conducted and initiated various informartion/education sessions amongst members and network organizations.
The organization also provides assistance in the form of donations to organizations whose mission and goals are consistent with NEFFCON-IE's mission and goals.
