MAASFEP sponsored its 2017 annual Fall Conference: The three day conference included sessions for attendees to learn effective fesearch-based strategies to meet the needs of all learners, especially those who are not on track to be proficient in core subjects Jtuncluded current information to implement the ESSA, scientifically based educational research, and a variety of instructional Strategies Approximately 362 educators and school administrators were served by speakers and presenters in general sessions and in approximately 30 breakout SCSSIOMS ooo neeeencceececeree ee nee nen ceene reece cenen enna
Scholarship/Grant programs MAASFEP awards up to three new scholarships on an annual basis All high school semors in the state of Minnesota are eligible to submit an application if they have at one time been enrolled in the Title | program for at Jeast one year during their school career Scholarship payments occur after the institution of higher learning where each is attending provides written notification of the recipient's enrollment and attendance For FYE 6/30/18 five scholarship payments totaling $10,000 were made to individuals enrolled in post secondary education, awarded on the organization's scholarship award criteria
Professional resources MAASFEP co-sponsored educator memberships in NAFEPA to foster professional networking, idea gathering, mentoring, and resource information sharing related to national education compliance issues. MAASFEP leadership attended national conferences to gather information regarding updates on current trends in education legislation Approximately educators and administrators were SOrved
