Program areas at Mighty River Rising

Supervised construction on 7.5 miles of paved roadway/trail along the route through the st. francis national forest. Worked with the county to pave an additional 8 miles of roadway/trail connecting two premier state park lakes within the forest.
Worked with the city of west memphis and engineers to design and construct 13 steel bridges for placement on existing trail route in the proposed big River park.
Managed and supervised continued design and grant compliance issues on the final helena-west section of the trail working with phillips county and city officials. Installed route signage.
Continued conducting fundraising and grant making activities in support of brt trail construction. Received a $250,000 grant for the final section of the brt in the st. francis national forest and agreed to donate walton grant funding to the city of helena-west helena for the required 25% match to the grant.helped established the new big River conservancy (a 501c3 organization in partnership with Tennessee parks and greenways foundation (tenn-green). The purpose of the new 501c3 is to purchase approximately 1,500 acres of land to establish the big River park along the banks of the Mississippi river.raised an additional $500,000 to complete the remaining section of the trail loop in the proposed big River park working with the city of west memphis and the local metropolitan regional planning board.
