The event, held at Merakey's children's reach site at 265 e. lehigh in philadelphia, was a great success. Over 200 coats were given away to children in Merakey's programs. The Foundation organized a holiday toy drive to help offset the expenses of holiday giving for our foster care families. In fy24, 200 children in Merakey's foster care received gifts for the holidays.the Merakey Foundation held its annual recovery care kit drive, for which all donations go toward helping individuals in the community without homes and struggling with addiction. Recovery care kits are assembled and hand-delivered by the dedicated staff from the recovery mobile teams at Merakey parkside recovery in philadelphia.in fy24, the Merakey Foundation provided impact grant support to several projects within the adult behavioral health (abh) division and the intellectual and developmental disabilities (idd) division. The Foundation's impact grants invest in transformative ideas and scalable solutions that support Merakey's strategic initiatives.abh impact grant recipients:- various locations whole person care transformation as part of staff development clinic- beaver falls, pa yoga and meditation area enhancements- philadelphia, pa supplies for a food pantry- russellton, pa materials that promote social, mental, and physical activities- warminster, pa organized activities that assist consumers working on socialization goals- newport, pa patio furniture for a safe outdoor space- philadelphia, pa thanksgiving and holiday meals for those experiencing chronic homelessness- upland, pa exercise equipment including weights, games, and sporting items- mobile team engagement activities for mobile units that support those struggling with homelessness- broomall, pa greenhouse supplies to promote healthy choices- philadelphia, pa fresh start recovery beds to offer transitional housing for those in recoveryidd impact grant recipients:- pittsburgh, pa community enrichment and socialization activities to local parks and museums, as well as some equipment to promote safety, dignity, respect, and privacy.- sunbury, pa retractable awning to provide shelter over an existing patio that houses sensory equipment.- portage, pa tickets and passes to local parks, museums, and a gym to promote community access, as well as some equipment for emergency safety and sensory stimulation.- stockton, ca porch swings and picnic table to help residents achieve their socialization goals; equipment to promote sensory stimulation and increase coping strategies.- yuba city, ca picnic table to assist residents in achieving their socialization goals.the Merakey Foundation impact grants focus on projects that invest in scalable solutions and transformative ideas that support Merakey's strategic initiatives. The Foundation's impact grants are funded by fundraising efforts of the Merakey Foundation and generous donors. Each year the Merakey Foundation also funds scholarship beds and transition support for adults in recovery, sensory and therapeutic equipment for adults with idd, and a foster care scholarship fund for young adults transitioning from foster care.
