Program areas at Marin Made
Marin Made is a communal makerspace open to the public. Marin Made has the most advanced machines that are designed to enable its users to create just about anything. If someone has a project idea or would like to make a prototype or an artistic concept they can come to Marin Made to get help in making it happen. Examples of projects that have gone on at Marin Made: a) desalinization machine. We designed a solar powered machine that distills salt water and makes fresh water. B) welding class. We have been teaching welding to young girls, ages 10-15. They make steel flowers and spray paint them. C) leather bag making class. We teach how to make a handbag out of leather or buffalo skin. D) historical society. The historical society came to us for help in creating a donor wall to list all the donors for a historic plaza in downtown sausalito. E) uc berkeley school of architecture. We helped them make a large model of the human brain with the neural pathways for the optic nerves. It is installed on campus. F) spalding wooden boat center. We helped teach kids at the center how to make things with high tech machines. Boat building is Made easier with the use of computer controlled machines. G) tamalpias high school coding classes. Kids in high school come here to learn about robotics and programming. H) blacksmithing class. We teach blacksmithing and casting. We have a knife forge and furnace for basic metal shaping and casting. I) we provide computer work space for people who would like to work in a group setting. Similar to wework but for computer controlled machines. J) fundraising tools and non profit help. We can design and build tools for fundraising such as lemonade stands or displays that help other non profits in fundraising. We can also help non profits with infrastructure issues.
