Lea County Commission of the Arts educates children and the community of the importance of using creative skills and talents. One of the major programs is maintaining an art center of local artwork that is open to the general public. An annual christmas program features live performances of music and dance. the walker awards is an annual banquet that honors artists in Lea County who have made significant lifetime achievement in the Arts.
After school and summer art program - the wednesday children's after school art class runs every school year at the center for the Arts, and a five week of summer art classes serve up to 30 students per class.
Downtown sounds program - a free annual summer concert series that draws over 2,000 people to downtown hobbs every year.
