Program areas at International Young Artists PJT

Due to continuing Covid-19 restrictions in Europe, the Board of Directors decided to cancel the Summer Program in Italy. Instead the Board proposed a week long teaching symposium at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. With the help of one of the Board members, who is a Music Professor at UNC-CH, IYAP was able to secure a concert hall and several teaching labs for participants. Four music certified Board Members plus a conductor and two music certified instructors from Italy provided opera and theater music instruction for the symposium. Thirty-two participants including nine young singers who were deemed financially unable to afford the tuition costs attended the event. The symposium participants received three to four days of music instruction as well as working with piano accompanyment. The final three days involved public performances in the concert hall, the last of which was a truncated opera presentation in which every singer participated.
