Grantmaking - iwhc's grantmaking supports organizations and individuals working to strengthen diverse feminist movements; advance abortion as a human right; and advance the right of women, girls, and marginalized people to celebrate and make decisions about their sexuality and reproduction. Iwhc prioritizes support to women and young leaders and women and youth-led organizations as well as leaders and organizations that center marginalized populations in organizational leadership. Iwhc's approach to grantmaking is grounded in trust, strong, long-term relationships, and continued learning. Iwhc prioritizes grantmaking in key countries, namely those that have significant influence globally and regionally.advocacy - iwhc influences governments, including the united states, the united nations and other multilateral agencies to support funding for and policies that advance the sexual and reproductive Health and rights of women, adolescent girls and marginalized communities. In particular, iwhc's advocacy focuses on advancing abortion as a human right and the rights of women, adolescent girls and marginalized people to celebrate and make decisions about their sexuality and reproduction. Iwhc works to build and strengthen feminist movements and coalitions working toward a common vision through its advocacy, in order to achieve transformative and lasting change. Learning, monitoring and evaluation - iwhc generates knowledge and research on critical and emergent srhr issues in order to inform the field and drive iwhc's advocacy. In addition, iwhc bridges and connects movements through feminist knowledge exchange and convening, and by connecting activists facing similar challenges to identify joint and effective strategies.
Coalition institutional capacity - iwhc seeks to strengthen its own institutional capacity to achieve operational excellence and the highest standards of programmatic work, based on overall and specific in-country strategies, with clarity about the geographic, issue and substantive focus of our investments and the timeframe for supporting partners. It monitors the progress of its own work and periodically undergoes external assessment of its impact.
Communications - iwhc's communications efforts amplify our work to fight for gender justice worldwide and demonstrate iwhc's thought leadership in the field. It aims to inform and inspire policymakers, grantee partners, peer organizations, and institutional and individual donors to take action to advance sexual and reproductive Health and rights.
