Global forum on Girls' education iii: the global forum on Girls' education iii was held virtually june 21-22, 2022 and in person in boston june 27-29, 2022. Together, both the virtual and in-person forum brought together over 1000 leading educators, researchers, advocates, authors, practitioners, and related-industry leaders from 18 countries (australia, bermuda, canada, colombia, costa rica, ireland, israel, japan, new zealand, norway, philippines, saudi arabia, singapore, south africa, spain, tanzania, united kingdom, and united states) to share ideas about how best to prepare and empower Girls to be ethical, globally minded changemakers who lead with courage, competence, and empathy. The net revenue from the 2022 global forum on Girls' education iii was $175k.
The global action research collaborative on Girls' education (garc) is the world's first action research program that engages Girls' school educators from around the world in informed, collaborative, and disciplined, action research. The program builds both a network of Girls' school educators from around the world and a library of valuable and relevant research on Girls' education. The first three cohorts of garc fellows included 60 educators representing 56 Schools in eight countries around the world.
Educating Girls symposiums: educating Girls symposiums are professional development offerings that provide educators with an opportunity to network and exchange best practices for teaching and working with Girls. The topic for the symposiums changes every 18-24 months based on the real-time issues and challenges faced by ncgs member Schools. The theme for the 2021-2022 symposiums was Girls as ethical, globally minded changemakers. One virtual symposium was held in fy22 and brought together over 800 participants from 6 countries (australia, canada, colombia, south korea, united kingdom, and united states). The net revenue totaled $24k. Orld.
Headways provides school leaders the opportunity to connect virtually, using the video-conferencing tool zoom, to discuss operational issues relevant to their post. Open to all member Schools, interested individuals gather for small group, one hour-long facilitated conversations throughout the school year to discuss pre-arranged and time-sensitive topics. In fy22, the organization offered 19 cohorts for admissions/enrollment professionals, advancement/development professionals, arts educators, college counseling professionals, communications/marketing professionals, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging practitioners, division directors, global learning/exchange professionals, heads of school/presidents/principals, heads of coordinate Schools, hot topics in Girls' Schools, religiously affiliated/faith-based Schools, social emotional learning and wellness, stem educators, and trustees at Girls' Schools. With 247 participants among the cohorts, revenue from the headways program was $56k.the beyond the book author series is an online discussion series for educators to dive deeply into new books directly with an author. During this live experience, educators and administrators engage in dialogue with an author and each other using a videoconferencing platform. One session was offered in fy22 with 30 participants resulting $3,400 in net revenue. The global mentoring network for aspiring leaders, offered in partnership with the Girls' Schools association (uk), the alliance of Girls' Schools australasia, and bright field consulting (uk), is a mentorship model for aspiring school leaders offering participants one-on-one feedback about individual style and strengths, confidential meetings with a dedicated mentor, a community project, and more. More than 60 educators from Girls' Schools around the world participated in fy22. Introduction to Girls' Schools online course, offered in partnership with one schoolhouse, is an online course designed as an orientation to Girls' Schools for newly hired teachers and administrators. Participants connect and collaborate with each other to explore best practice and research in Girls' school classrooms. Moreover, participants learn from panels of school heads, alumnae, experienced teachers, and new teachers, and therefore are introduced to community members and leaders from around the country. In fy22, three sessions of this course were offered with a total of 125 participants resulting in nearly $14k in revenue.
