Program areas at I Can Fly International
Educational programs and special services were provided for children and youth from seven counties inKenya. We also provided beds and supplies to youth in Tanzanian schools. Children ages 0-18 years oldwho are affected by early marriage, female genital mutilation, child labor, sexual abuse, child pregnancy,HIV/AIDS, and low - income backgrounds participated in programs offered through I Can Fly High School,Pre-School, Rescue Center and Alumni outreach programs. Secondary school students received tuitionfees, housing, meals, uniforms, school supplies, mattresses, hygiene kits, books and school supplies. TheScholars program recipients received tuition fees and stipends to attend various Universities.Educational compliances, legal fees, registrations, travel expenses, enrichment activities, medical care,medicine, supply shipping, internet connections and communications were provided at each facility andoutreach activities.
Food Program:The Food Program provided Butterfly Project recipients three meals per day throughout the year at ICan Fly High School, Pre-School, Rescue center and the Nairobi street boys outreach initiative. Waterdeliveries and firewood was provided to prepare hot meals for all children on each campus andhomeless youth.
Development/Infrastructure:Campus development projects were provided at I Can Fly High School, Pre-school and I Can Fly RescueCenter. Water projects were performed at I Can Fly High School which included a new borehole equalingover 600 feet with casings, piping, and systems throughout the campus. The water project also includeda solar panel connection designed to easily pump water. The wall project comprised of a 200 foot wallcreated with heavy duty reinforcement columns for weather protection. The continuation of ButterflyHouse was continued with further brick layering and plastering in Phase 2. Land surveys wereconducted on school properties. I Can Fly Pre-School final phase included painting, wall unit additionsand fencing.
Transportation:Transportation fees, fuel, insurances, inspections, registrations and vehicle repairs were provided forfive vehicles. Students and staff traveling to and from school, field trips, medical appointments throughchartered buses, private vehicles and school buses were provided. All vehicles received regularmaintenance, diagnostic testing, towing services, painting and safety check-ups.
