This was accomplished by implementing several marketing tactics such as same-day signup discounts, first-year member benefit communications, renewal anniversary resets for past due members, and dues increase delay for early renewals. The Chamber also engaged in several policy advocacy initiatives by testifying at the state capitol for interstate 45 highway funding, additional flood mitigation funding, and increased funding for law enforcement. The Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce also funds a local economic development program, which works with the other area economic development organizations and the state to attract new businesses to the area and retain existing businesses. Its other primary initiative is to create a management district in the service areas main commercial corridor. This effort is intended to address crime and economically distressed properties and attract new businesses to the area. This is an ongoing effort.
Grow Northwest is the economic development branch of the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce. Primary goals include: attracting new business to the area, improving safety & security, and marketing and branding the local community.
