Program areas at Homeschool Academy / The Williams School Inc
The Wiliams School is an accredited kindergarten through 12th grade day school that seeks to teach the whole child with special emphasis on children with reading and other learning difficulties. Our goal is to provide an environment where each student feels safe, secure, loved, and respected. We seek to provide each child the opportunity to grow to their fullest potential, graduate from school, and become contributing members of society. We focus individual attention on the needs of each child with small class room sizes with typically 6-8 students in the class room. However, in the school year, Sep 2022 - May 2023, we had 12 students participate in the combined High School class with 1 student graduating at the end of the school year in May 2023.
Teachers are provided with training opportunities to further their professional development and improve their skills. Of particular note, all teachers at the William's School become certified in Phono-Graphix, an officially trademarked and recognized comprehensive method for teaching reading skills to students with special reading difficulties.
The Williams School provides extra-curricular experiences to students with field trips through out the school year. The school also provides some outdoor activities, for example archery training. Students also participate in planning and executing fund raising activities, and other festivities during the school year. One example is the traditional Spring Prom dance. This variety of activities fit nicely into our mission goal stated previously.
