Heart to Honduras (through Corazon Para Honduras) is equipping communities with sustainable models of work and development to provide clean water, secure housing, accessible medical care, a consistent food supply, adequate fair employment, as well as spiritual and educational opportunities. In 2022, rebuilding and repairs after the 2020 hurricanes continued. Heart to Honduras built or improved homes, repaired churches and renovated schools, improved community sanitation and infrastructure, provided seeds for agricultural development and continued training for communities to collaborate on projects. Nearly 5,000 people benefitted from the Formational Leadership programs.
Heart to Honduras provided support to pastors and their family members in 2022. 84 individuals benefitted from leadership training to develop strong community relationships.
11 North American teams involving 118 people traveled to Central America to serve alongside local churches and individuals. These teams worked constructing homes and home repairs, church building and improvements, and latrines. They provided medical assistance, cared for the needs of community members, trained leaders, and engaged in relationships that will help the locals identify their own resources and potential. Heart to Honduras arranges travel, lodging and meals through Honduran partner Corazon Para Honduras. Medical personnel on these teams saw 390 patients providing 45 hours of patient care.
Heart to Honduras provides funds to support the camps at Corazon Para Honduras. In 2022, 120 youth were able to attend the soccer camps and 3,494 youth attended the Campamento Extremo Internacional. These camps provide opportunities for healthy social and spiritual development, and for youth to find their true identities as sons and daughters of God.
