In 2022 94 greyhounds entered our program from the caliente track. Greysave placed 64 dogs locally and 30 were transported to other nga recognized groups in Arizona. All dogs that come into our program are health checked, spayed/neutered,teeth cleaned, wormed, vaccinated, bloodwork done and placed into foster homes. Most of the hounds were healthy, about 33% had some type of injury. Those ranged from minor wounds to broken legs requiring extensive surgery and follow up care. Any illnesses such as a tick borne disease are treated. Once the dogs have completed our foster home program they are matched up with pre-screened families for adoption.
