Program areas at Greater Heartland Region of The YWCA USA
The Greater Heartland Region acts as a regional council of the YWCA of the USA and is composed of local member associations of the YWCA of the USA. These local member associations are located within the states of Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Illinois, and any other contiguous states that may be accepted for membership in the regional council. The Greater Heartland Region unites autonomous local member associations which have chosen to become members into an effective, continuing and growing organization for the fulfillment of the mission in these associations. The Greater Heartland Region builds the capacity of the member associations, provides support, training and technical assistance to member associations and develops and implements objectives for the region. The Greater Heartland Region follows and furthers the mission of the YWCA of the USA. The Region ceased operations in 2013. Services to the associations was transferred to the YWCA of the USA, as part of a national restructuring of the YWCA of the USA and the independent Regional organizations.
