Program areas at Boy Scouts of America - 433 Great Trail Council of Bsa
The Great Trail Council's objective is to reinforce traditional family values through the delivery of scout programs that will foster creativity, promote family unity, and inspire and motivate Scouts to develop the skills that will provide the foundation needed to becomeproductive citizens. In 2022 the gtc continued our journey to deliver our traditonal and new programs beyond our historical scope. Using our three camps, career exploration, leadership, citizenship, and character development, we experienced a return to near normal and celebrated significant membership growth. During more than 77,600 camping nights, Scouts and thier families enjoyed, learned and embraced the outdoors. In 2022, 176 scots bsa earned the prestigious eagle scout award. Scouts bsa and cub Scouts acheived 4211 rank advancements in 2022. Over 50 volunteer mentors attended wood badge adult eadership training. Over 60 Scouts bsa attended nylt/national youth leadership training. Exploring, pathfinder and scoutreach units connected with youth to give accessible opportunities, provide programs and introduce career opportunites to all youth regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion, race, socio-economic status, orientation or ability. Great Trail Council serves portage, northern wayne, summit, medina, trumbull and mahoning counties. At the close of 2022, we served 3504 youth members. The Council added 2266 new scout families and registered 3435 adult mentors.
