Program areas at Good Shepherd Foundation
We continue to educate the public, medical professionals and the government on the cultural causes of disease through the Foundation's institute for the study of culturogenic disease. We have been demonstrating the effectiveness of human-based cultural research as more appropriate for studying human disease than outdated and cruel animal-based research. Our leading issue, now supported by numerous medical studies throughout the world, is the link between breast cancer and wearing tight bras. See brasandbreastcancer.org. Our environmental efforts are currently focusing on protecting Hawaii from the proposed use of rodenticides in wilderness areas to eradicate rodents and mongooses. See nopoisonhawaii.org. We are also working on discovering the cause and treatment for an epidemic eye disease on Hawaii island, presumable caused by contact with the invasive little fire ant, which can result in partial to total blindness in dogs, cats, birds and other animals. See fireanteye.org. We continue protecting and caring for rescued animals and wildlife at our sanctuary on Hawaii island.
