Gpf asiagpf korea field affiliate produced a series of three convenings entitled international forum on one korea 2022 in seoul as hybrid in-person / online events, engaging over 23,000 participants and collaborating partners including action for korea united, one korea Foundation, korean senior citizens' association, korean national police veterans association and others. Alongside partners such as the korea constitutional association, reached 20,000 people with the 2022 unification action festival which commemorated south korea's 80th anniversary of independence. Engaged more than 3500 people in a wide range of cultural and community building activities such as a marathon, music concerts, art exhibitions and special workshops to promote Peace and civic engagement. Overall, our wide variety of efforts in south korea engaged more than 77,000 participants and over 80 local partners and co-conveners in a variety of conferences, forums, online discussions, workshops and cultural activities. Gpf mongolia field affiliate: convened the mongolian forum 2022 as a hybrid event alongside partners such as one korea Foundation, blue banner and local community organizations, engaging in discussions, expert panels, and cultural small group activities to nurture connections across an international group of approx.100 thought leaders. Facilitated a variety of modest, local efforts including volunteer service learning projects and a youth club. Gpf japan field affiliate: engaged more than a dozen partners and approximately 700 participants in a local Peace festival, community service project and volunteering, and workshops for harmonious marriages and families. Gpf philippines field affiliate: engaged over 17,000 participants and 250 local stakeholders in a variety of programs and community projects including educator professional development, community mental health, charity for for youth and families including school supplies, holiday meals, community pantries and other volunteer-supported efforts. Attracted approximately 67,000 online viewers to the Global youth summit, an in-person youth development program with 2,000 local participants and 10 supporting partners including sm cares, nestle, levi's, fuji suiso, smx davao amongst others. Gpf malaysia field affiliate: conducted an agroforestry food farming project engaging local community members and volunteers to pilot sustainable agricultural approaches while strengthening community resilience, alongside local stakeholders including yayasan hasanah, yayasan sime darby, yayasan bursa, a little wild, with participation of the united nations development program. Gpf indonesia field affiliate: engaged approximately 2,000 youth and young professionals in a variety of in-person peacebuilding projects, youth leadership development, volunteer services projects, plus online webinars and workshops. More than 40 local partners collaborated to support the projects and activities including strong cities network, airlangga university, karang taruna kota surabaya, and widyatama university bandung amongst others. Gpf nepal field affiliate: engaged approximately 4,700 participants in a variety of primarily in-person activities including girls and women's capacity building, river of Peace community service project, family-oriented peacebuilding workshops, and youth leadership development and peacebuilding educational efforts. Over thirty local stakeholders supported the various projects and programs including local municipalities and schools, smart wash solution, engage nepal, and nepal water conservation Foundation. Gpf india field affiliate: organized approximately 1,000 participants in a variety of programs alongside local partners including the ujjawal Foundation, national Foundation for communal harmony, children's Peace palace and local private sector stakeholders. Activities included national youth Peace camp, Global forum on youth leadership, and a variety of Peace clubs and workshops for youth. Gpf cambodia field affiliate: supported modest local efforts in youth4peace peacebuilding and leadership education as well as volunteer efforts for community strengthening. Local stakeholders included youthstar cambodia, western international school, krousar thmey Foundation and others.
Africa:gpf kenya field affiliate collaborated with international speakers and experts to deliver a professional development webinar series for approximately 700 kenyan educators and ministry of education officials. Supported the million tree growing campaign to engage over 15,000 participants and 100 volunteers with over 100 hours of local community programming to nurture community peacebuilding and prevent climate conflict. Strengthened the post-election public safety in kenya by preventing electoral violence and nurturing positive civic engagement, with support from the national cohesion and integration commision and united nations development programme. Nurtured 200 young entrepreneurs with leap-hubs entrepreneurship development program alongside stakeholders including vera beauty college, zetech university, kenya institute of social work and other partners. Reached an audience of approximately 70,000 participants across programs, including youth, educators, community members and local stakeholders, with support from standard media group, plan international, oracle academy, chandaria Foundation, emobis, world vision, sky girls kenya and others. Gpf nigeria field affiliate delivered a robust array of peacebuilding programming to engage over 30,000 participants and more than forty partners including mujib hope Foundation, amina dyslexia center, federal ministries of education, foreign affairs, fityanul islam of nigeria, usaid, vision africa and adf international, international republican institute, kimpact development initiative and kukah center. Strengthened Peace and prevented election violence by engaging over 8,000 local youth during in-person convenings and activities. Nurtured local peacebuilding efforts with community resilience building in local communities to bridge divides between herders and farmers, muslims and christians, and across diverse tribal backgrounds, engaging over 3300 local community members, faith leaders and local government stakeholders. Convened the international conference on peacebuilding with over 400 attendees and experts to examine local, national and regional solutions and best practices. Supported religious freedom in local communities and encouraged respect of differences while celebrating common values, more than 10,000 in-person and online participants and local usaid officials. Gpf uganda field affiliate engaged more than 2000 local educators and reached a television viewing audience of 5 million with educational programming related to educator professional development. Supported outreach efforts for approximately 200 local women and girls related to hiv/aids prevention, entrepreneurial development and life skills training. Delivered a series of uganda for Peace in-person and hybrid sessions to engage approximately 1,000 participants. Gpf tanzania field affiliate engaged more than 5,000 local youth, women and community members across programming including women's empowerment and entrepreneurship development, prevention of extremist violence and countering financing of terrorism, with support of the Global center for cooperative security and united nations development programme, un information center dar es salaam, jane goodall's roots and shoots, Global network of religions for children, dodoma youth development organization, gift of hope Foundation. With support from local media, reached an additional 10 million households with televised Peace programming and messaging in local languages, encouraging community cohesion and resilience, with media partners itv, capital tv/radio, radio one stereo, un radio, tbc fm, tbc tv, star tv, clouds tv. Engaged approximately 4500 youth with in-person vijana na amani peacebuilding campaign, with millions more in radio and media audiences. Stakeholders and supporting partners included the tanzanian prime minister's office, undp tanzania, tanzania scouts association, youth of the united nations and mwalimu nyerere Foundation and others.
Gpf americas chapter gpf international hq / usa: gpf's efforts in the safer Maryland campaign continued trainings and stakeholder briefings to prevent targeted violence and terrorism, including school shootings, mass casualty events and other similar loss of life. We trained and briefed over 400 individuals with neutral information related to community safety, delivered across approx. 20 in-person and virtual briefings and trainings. Small community pilot projects such fostering healing and cross community engagement supported approximately 75 local community members reflecting different racial and ethnic backgrounds to overcome bias and build compassionate understanding. Along with stakeholders, supported the international religious freedom roundtables and summits, engaging approximately 2,000 individuals from all over the world in over 50 in-person and virtual/hybrid sessions, with more than a dozen partners including templeton religious trust and the alliance defending freedom. Provided capacity building to our network of field affiliates and partners with programmatic and technical support for topics related to organizational development, resource development, topical issues such as preventing targeted violence and terrorism, and community peacebuilding. Alongside our partners, convened the first amendment voice alliance to engage approximately 45 participants in 6 sessions related to current issues and topics, with partners such as northrup grumman, institute for religious freedom alliance and pen america.gpf paraguay field affiliate convened over 7100 participants in more than 30 online professional development sessions related to peacebuilding education, personal and character development, and transforming education, with supporting partners including oecd (organization for economic co-operation and development), ministry of education, equity and gender commission of the national congress and public and private sector co-conveners.gpf brazil field affiliate organized a rich programmatic offering of ongoing programs, national and international activities related to youth, peacebuilding and volunteer service, serving approximately 2400 youth and families. Participated in the united nations sustainable development goals action weekend to shine the spotlight on youth and public health. Participated in the center for sports and social integration efforts, including engagement of 300 participants, with a focus on engaging children, youth and families in sports as a modality to strengthen community cohesion and prevent violence. Offered a variety of in-person programs to youth and families including an entrepreneurial development and competition project, 'conversations for Peace' peacebuilding skills workshops and other peacebuilding and community-strengthening activities. Gpf guatemala field affiliate engaged approximately 48,000 latin american participants in an online project to build civic participation capacity for women, foro latinoamericano de mujeres parlamentarias. Supported approximately 1,000 youth in gaining access to scholarships, with a special emphasis on engaging youth in central america and the dominican republic, in collaboration with bkt corporate social responsibility initiatives and fundacin esquipulas. Organized a 6,000 person effort, including 4,000 volunteers for the national campaign for reforestation, alongside partners fundacin esquipulas movimiento juvenil aj tzuk fundacin para el ecodesarrollo and la conservacin calmec mision presidecnial latinoamerica. Implemented a variety of supports and activities related to a digital library, prevention of gender-based violence, and ecology.
Europe: the peacesharing forum 2022, once convened in belfast, northern ireland, was again live streamed and available on-demand to an international audience of approximately 1,000 nonprofit leaders, academics and peacebuilding practitioners and featured sessions such as healing after conflict, strengthening educator capacity for peaceful schools, and building safe communities. Cooperation ireland was a co-convener and local partner in capacity building trainings and discussion forums. Gpf continued its work in educational capacity building for educators, including participation in the oecd future of education and skills 2030 informal working group and other efforts; engaging an eu-based consultant to contribute content to a variety of professional development webinars and tools, which supported several thousand educators through a series of workshops and programs around the world. International day of Peace offered european networks and partners an opportunity to participate in a Global commemoration of the united nations international day of Peace, including connecting with youth and young adults from africa, india, and asia.
