Geisinger Health System (GHS)

I. General program service information Geisinger System Services (gss), a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, provides management and consultative Services, at cost, to other entities within Geisinger. Gss prepares, implements, and audits policies and procedures of System wide relevance and implements uniform standards and methods of management throughout the System. Services historically provided by gss to other entities within Geisinger include: appointment Services internal audit automotive Services legal Services business office mail Services care support Services marketing courier Services medical library customer access medical records customer service call center patient experience diversity, equity and inclusion (dei) patient placement Services elevator operations plant engineering employee benefit administration power plant facilities planning and management quality and safety financial Services reprographics general maintenance risk management grounds supply chain human resources transcription Services information systems includes the operation and maintenance of the electronic health records for all patients of the various Geisinger providers. Ii. Community health, education, and outreach Geisinger System Services provides reduced price Services and free programs throughout the year to various organizations. The provision of these Services and programs is based upon the activities and Services that the organizations provide for the community and which Geisinger System Services believes will serve a bona fide community need. These community Services and organizations received cash donations or in-kind Services described below. A.health professions education gss provided 10,581 in connection with teaching radiographic science during the year ended december 31, 2023. B.other in-kind Services additionally, the following organizations, received cash contributions or in-kind Services including, but not limited to, providing information technology Services, overhead Services and educational support valued at 4,847,000. Ronald mcdonald house - overhead Services including maintenance and print shop Services real results for Pennsylvania - educational support evangelical community hospital - build of electronic medical records System (epic), and annual maintenance support, in accordance with applicable rules and regulations c.community building in 2023, gss provided staff in support of the development and maintenance of the plain community outreach in the amount of 59,026. D.other community benefit gss employees participate in the community health needs assessment team to assist in the identification of the needs of the community Geisinger serves. The uncompensated cost of this time and the related tracking tool was 217,936 during the year ended december 31, 2023. Iii. Community service summary community health, education and outreach 5,134,543
