Women United in Philanthropy. In 2021 the Foundation became the fiscal agent for this women's giving circle. We accepted a total of $250,000 of transferred cash assets from the previous agent, Bergen County's United Way, between 2021 & 2022. During the year we awarded grants to agencies that support women and children in crisis: Geriatric Services Inc., The Center for Hope and Safety and Jewish Family & Children's Services.
Disaster Response - Established after September 11, 2001, the Foundation's disaster response initiative awards grants to help in times of community crisis (e.g. COVID)
Action Against Hunger. This program delivered approximately 31,800 pounds of food to local food banks and pantries in 2019, but was suspended in 2020-2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the Foundation continued to raise funds via its website to help feed its North Jersey neighbors. The Foundation raised $2,826 for this effort in 2022.
