Program areas at Florida Frontiersmen

Annual hosting of the alafia river rendezvous - approximately 1,500 participants from throughout the country attend to exemplify frontier life. One day is devoted to hosting over 2,000 students and 40 teachers to provide educational programs regarding frontier skills and living. Three days are devoted to hosting the public; 4,000 to 7,000 typically visit and approximately 500 boys scouts and leaders also attend. Skills demonstrated are: blacksmithing, sewing and clothes making, weaving; primitive gun making, use and safety; knife and ax making, use and safety; copper and silver smithing; leather and wood working, pottery, cooking, implement and tool making; campsite construction and use, fire making and safety, primitive archery, animal hide tanning, native american life styles, bead work, frontier musical instruments, et. Al.
Public education and scholarships - members conduct educational programs at schools and civic gatherings.
Monthly shooting and education - monthly meetings of the members are held on the property for the same educational purposes as the rendezvous.
