Program areas at EM
Full-time vocational program: our full-time program offers skills-based training and behavioral support to teens and adults with autism spectrum disorder. It is a three-year program (10 months per year) where students receive training in the fields of digital arts and post-production.
Studio program: graduates of the full-time program use skills acquired at Exceptional Minds to generate program revenue from paid client projects, typically major motion pictures and television shows. Graduate artists also receive additional support and training from their supervisors and em staff with the aim of eventual placement in "outside" employment.
Part-time skills and vocational programs: students take part in after school and saturday programs to learn niche skills related to the animation and visual effects career paths. Students are also provided one on one tutoring to develop specific skills needed to advance in the program. Program also includes a six-week summer program where teens and adults with autism spectrum disorder acquire skills needed to become animators and media artists.
Post-graduate/continuing ed programs. Graduates who do not yet have the skills for immediate employment in the studio pay for a 4th-year guided independent-study program to hone and develop additional skills needed. Students can also enroll in targeted advanced skills and software courses offered on a one-off basis to help improve their employability.
