Program areas at Downtown Phoenix
In addition to providing leadership, coordination and operational efficiencies, Downtown Phoenix Inc. (dpi) will maximize the strong points of existing Downtown oriented not-for-profits and assist in the creation of others as deemed necessary to further its objectives. Specific dpi activities will be:-to provide oversight and coordination functions for other Downtown not-for-profits. This activity will be performed by the dpi ceo, part time administrative assistant and part time controller. These functions will account for approximately 30% of the organization's time. -to promote the positive attributes of Downtown Phoenix to the general public. This activity will be performed by the dpi ceo and staff from affiliate organizations. This will account for approximately 25% of the organization's time. -to advocate for development initiatives that improve the physical appearance of Downtown and contribute to Downtown's economic vitality. This activity will be performed by the dpi ceo and staff from affiliate organizations and will account for approximately 15% of the organization's time. -to advocate for neighborhood, arts, and the community initiatives and projects that improve the Downtown quality of life. This will be performed by the dpi ceo and staff from affiliate organizations and will account for approximately 15% of the organization's time. -to promote and/or support special events and festivals that enhance the Downtown quality of life. This activity will be performed by the dpi ceo and staff from affiliate organizations and will account for approximately 15% of the organization's time.
An agreement of merger was filed between Downtown Phoenix, Inc. (dpi) and Downtown Phoenix partnership (dpp), in which dpi merged into dpp and ceased to exist as a separate entity. Upon merger, total net assets of Downtown Phoenix, Inc. Were distributed to Downtown Phoenix partnership as grant expense.
