Program areas at Dogs and Cats Stranded on the Streets
DCSS awarded grants totaling $101,000 to other tax-exempt charities with a similar mission of rescuing dogs and cats that have been abandoned to the streets, providing them with the necessary veterinary care and temporary shelter, and ultimately placing them in safe, loving homes. DCSS also supposed organizations that are committed to promoting responsible spay/neuter practices to control the unwanted pet population. Organizations that received grants during this fiscal year located in:United StatesCA, CT, FL, GA,IL, LA, MD, ME, NC, NJ, NM,, NY, OH, PR, SC, TX and WIInternational Romania and MexicoThe Organizations goal is to fund charities in all 50 states and numerous overseas countries within the next few years.DCSS also received numerous calls from people throughout the US in need of help. Callers found homeless dogs and cats in their neighborhoods and needed help in finding them homes and-or spay/ neuter services. DCSS was able to connect all callers with a local organization to help. Additionally DCSS covered the cost of vet care/ spay, food, and spay/neuter services for several dogs and cats to ensure they could be adopted.
