Program areas at Cosacosa Art at Large
COSACOSA's Art & Health initiative is a nationally recognized program bringing individuals with disabilities and/or in long-term hospital care together with local community members to learn new artistic techniques and about each other. Participants collaborate with professional artists to design and create new large-scale public artworks for the neighborhood healthcare facilities, community centers, and schools.
COSACOSA's Art & Civic Engagement initiatives, including youth development and education, explore Philadelphia's diverse cultural histories and changing urban landscapes. Project participants collaborate with professional artists to create large-scale public arts, film, music, and interactive media projects on issues of concern to their neighborhoods. COSACOSA develops new models for city residents to use the arts to build social capital and strategically plan for their communities.
