Cord Volunteer Fire Department

Revenue includes 146,274 from sales taxes levied in the state and county that are designated for the Volunteer Fire departments. The sales tax rate decreased in 2019. Expenses incurred included payments to a state retirement fund for Volunteer firefighters and 10 per call/meeting paid to volunteers for their responses to emergency calls. Other expenses were operational and support services. Funds were used to complete construction of a new building that would house trucks and equipment and provide a training facility for volunteers. Construction was begun in 2019 and was completed in 2021, with additional costs incurred in 2022 of 11,634. Total cost of project to date 1,054,868. A tank for the Fire truck was purchased for 9490. Turnout racks costing 5,427 were paid with an in-kind grant.
