Program areas at Community Health Services

Women's Health: our family planning program provides affordable reproductive and sexual Health Services to women, men, and teens. This includes annual exams, birth control, sexual Health and family planning counseling as well as std/sti testing and treatment. All Services are confidential and affordable. Services include: - annual women's exams - pap smear, pelvic and breast exams - pregnancy testing, education, counseling and resources - birth control counseling and education - birth control supplies: condoms, oral contraceptives, nuvarings, iud and nexplanon, emergency contraceptive pills including plan b and "the morning after pill".
Immunizations: the immunization program strives to reduce vaccine preventable diseases by administering all recommended vaccines for adults and children including travel vaccines. Community Health Services is a vfc (vaccine for children) provider, a publicly funded program that ensures that all Colorado children receive necessary vaccines, regardless of their parents' ability to pay.
Oral Health: smiles for students is a collaboration with garfield county public Health to reach second, third, sixth and seventh grade students in schools in garfield, pitkin, and eagle counties. Children receive oral evaluations, cleanings, sealants, fluoride varnishes, treatment referrals, and oral Health education. Smiles for seniors provides adults age 60 and over with oral evaluations, oral cancer screenings, cleanings, fluoride varnishes, oral Health education, and treatment referrals. The focus is to provide quality preventative care for seniors from aspen to parachute and to connect them with a dental home. Bright start smiles provides preventative oral Health care to pregnant women and children who attend preschool in pitkin, eagle and garfield counties. These children receive dental screenings, fluoride varnishes, treatment referrals and oral Health education.
Prenatal programs:community Health Services partners with all valley women's care to provide quality prenatal care for medicaid eligible women who reside in pitkin and western eagle counties. Our mission is to achieve optimal pregnancy outcomes for women in pitkin and eagle counties through access to: - early and appropriate prenatal Services - education on healthy behaviors and risk reduction during pregnancy - postpartum family planning Services 2022 expense: 98,471 2022 revenue: 52,472 cancer prevention and early detection provides free breast and cervical cancer screenings to eligible women. This includes clinical breast exams and mammograms for women age 40-64 and pap tests for women age 21-64. Diagnostic Services that assist in the diagnosis of cancer are also covered free of charge. 2022 expense: 125,529 covid: Community Health Services partners with pitkin county public Health to provide covid-19 vaccines to pitkin county residents and workers with a focus on vaccine equity and improved access for vulnerable and high risk populations. 2022 expense: 9,271 2022 revenue: 65,000 tuberculosis: Community Health Services provides testing, screening and treatment for latent and active tuberculosis cases in pitkin county. 2022 expense: 8,793
