Program areas at Churches for Middle East Peace
Educate: Churches for Middle East Peace (cmep) provides opportunities to learn about the Middle East with a holistic approach to advocating for Peace. Elevate: cmep serves to elevate diverse voices of christians and peacemakers who are advocating for equality, security, & human rights for all people in the Middle East. Advocate: cmep advocates for just u.s. policies in the Middle East by contacting members of congress, participating in government meetings, & attending advocacy summits.
Speaking engagements including; 1. "pilgrimage to Peace" - domestic speaking tours with cmep staff and other experts on an organized 1-3 week tour. Venues are customarily partner Churches. 2. Smaller regional events where cmep staff speak at partner Churches, schools, and other organizations throughout the us. 3. Cmep also participates in various conferences in the us and internationally - through exhibit tables, leading breakout groups, and sponsoring events to inform people about the work of cmep. 4. Throughout the year we host webinars focused on educate, elevate, and advocate to educate christians about issues related to the Middle East.
Annual advocacy summit - typically held once a year in person in dc, cmep's annual advocacy summit brings together christians interested in advocating on behalf of Peace and justice for all in the Middle East. They learn from experts on the issue and are trained to speak to the offices of their elected officials in order to promote Peace and justice.
Cmep 1835 - outreach towards cmep's missions and goals focused on students and young professionals (aged 18-35).
