Program areas at Chippewa-Luce-Mackinac Community Action Human Resource Authority
Head start/early childhood development: provided comprehensive health, educational, nutritional, social and other developmental services to economically disadvntaged preschool children (birth to 5 years).
Senior programming: provided comprehensive and coordinated community-based service delivery systems for older americans, which assisted them in leading independent, meaningful and dignified lives in their own homes and communities.
General transportation: assisted in financing, planning, acquiring, constructing, maintaining and improving facilities and equipment and operation of mass transportation services.
Housing & Community development: administers programs to residents in a three county region, including housing rehabilitation and homebuyer assistance programs. Energy crisis: assisted low income people n meeting the costs of home energy, defined as heating and cooling of residences, to increase their energy self-sufficiency and reduce their vulnerability resulting from energy needs. Community services: coordination of day to day efforts of the organization, including food distribution, housing, senior services and outreach activities. Property management and pland fund: rents office space to tenants in the avery square building and accounts for the assets, debt and equipment expenses related to its administration and program buildings in sault ste. Marie, st. ignace, and newberry, Michigan
