Program areas at Cambodian Village Fund
CVF completed construction of two new school buildings and a computer lab in 2024. A three-room building at Kilo Leak Buon Primary School was completed in December 2023. Final payment to the contractor was made in 2024. Construction of a school building at Prean Nil Primary School was completed in 2024. This three-classroom building includes a library and toilet. We also transformed and existing classroom at Bill and Nancy Kaun Khlong Primary School into a computer and science lab.
Construction of a two-bedroom, 7m X 8m house was completed on the campus of Bill and Nancy Kaun Khlong Primary School. The house is for volunteers for our English Language and Science Programs and primary teachers who spend the night at the school. Final payment for the house will be made in 2025.
Scholarships for University Students. The Cambodian Village Fund provided university scholarships to 27 girls in Battambang and 1 girl in Phnom Penh. Scholarship students receive room, board, tuition, laptop computers, cell phones, uniforms, English language classes, eye care and dental care. Twenty-four of the students live in the CVF dormitory in Battambang.
English Language Program. We offer free after-school English classes to 400 3rd-12 grade students in Prey Touch Commune. Five teachers conduct 10 classes each weeknight from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Classes are held at the Bill and Nancy Kaun Khlong Primary School.
Maintenance for Dormitory for Scholarship Students. The three-story dormitory, completed in 2022, houses 24 female students. Expenses include Electricity, Water, Gas, Cleaning supplies, Trash hauling, House Manager, Building Maintenance, and Property Tax.
Solar Project. We added solar panels at the Bill and Nancy Kaun Khlong Primary School.
We started a Science Program at Bill and Nancy Kaun Khlong Primary School for 4th and 5th grade students.
Medical supplies for prison.
Activities for students and teachers. We hosted dinners, lunches, transportation and other activities for current and former scholarship students, school administrators and English teachers in January and December while the Directors were in Cambodia.
