Blount County Farm Bureau is organized to develop, foster, promote, and protect programs for the general welfare, including economic, social, and political well-being of farm people. The structure of organizational leadership provides many opportunities for member leaders to keep abreast of issues that affect agriculture. Local board members attend organizational and educational activities. To protect and promote the agriculture industry at the local, state, and national level, Blount County Farm Bureau supports public policy efforts through both legislative and volunteer efforts.

Program areas at Blount County Farm Bureau

Public policy programs in order to protect & promote the agriculture industry the Blount co Farm Bureau through its structure of volunteer leaders supports public policy efforts at the local, state & national level. This is accomplished through both legislative & regulatory monitoring communications with members & public awareness programs about farming & rural life & provide information about the agriculture industry. Volunteer board members participate in the sponsorship of meet the candidate activities & yearly policy meetings with their legislators to educate them about ag policy & how the industry is impacted by lawmakers.
Youth education efforts annually the Blount County Farm Bureau remains involved as part of the oversight of agriculture youth development in the area. The efforts include outreach to rural, suburban, & urban youth. The bcfb assists in manning and funding a ag field day where grade school students get to see how important ag is to everyday life and to educate them on where our food and fiber comes from. The Blount County Farm Bureau also gives donations to the County ffa program and agriculture in the classroom.
Agriculture leadership activities the Blount County Farm Bureau structure of organizational leadership provides many opportunities for member leaders to keep abreast of issues that affect agriculture. Local board members attend organizational & educational meetings each month. They participate in other local agricultural, civic, & community organizations. Leaders attend district, state & national conferences to network with farmers & other agriculturalists to learn about current issues facing agriculture. A highly developed committee structure provides leadership opportunities for members through meetings, regular communications, and agricultural activities.
