Better Block Hawaii partnered with local businesses, community organizations, and artists to bring parklets and street improvements in kalihi, kailua, a'ala park in downtown honolulu, and in lihue, kauai, where a comprehensive improvement plan for downtown rice street corridor was created via community planning sessions. This plan includes street trees, community gardens, bus shelter and pedestrian improvements, as well as community programming such as street festivals.
