Beehive Design Collective

Produce graphic designs, illustrations and image-based educational materials for dissemination to educators, community organizers, and the general public. In 2016, we completed four new graphic posters, and printed aprox 9,000 copies. We presented our work at about 250 venues, to an estimated 12,500 attendees, and distributed an estimated 10,000 educational posters.

Ongoing arts apprenticeship opportunities and classes coupled with varied community service projects in Machias. In 2016, we had fourteen 14 new volunteers working during the summer, as well as one 1 new volunteer working all year. We also hosted two 2 Americorps VISTA volunteers focusing on community service in 2016..

Coordinate, host and staff cultural and educational events in the newly restored Machias Valley Grange Hall in collaboration with local organizations, groups and community members. In 2016 we hosted major events at the Grange Hall in May, June, July, August and September, as well as small community-organized events in every month of the year.
