Program areas at Association of State and Tribal Home Visiting Initiatives
Asthvi is a membership organization comprised of State officials who run Home Visiting programs. Asthvi staff represent members in conversations and meeting with national Home Visiting stakeholders, policymakers, and State and federal officials, serving as a collective voice for State and Tribal administrators. Asthvi educates various target audiences about the impact of Home Visiting on families and communities, including sharing important Home Visiting information with member administrators. Asthvi hosts national meetings for State and Tribal administrators to exchange information and collectively problem solve; shares important Home Visiting information and resources with member administrators weekly; provides real time support and peer connections to members; and collects membership dues and conducts other necessary Association management.
Asthvi convenes and facilitates standing committees and limited time work groups that allow members to ask questions and exchange information of significance regarding the implementation of Home Visiting programs in their State or tribe, providing and opportunity for peer-to-peer support and professional development. These committees and work groups also develop comments in response to requests for feedback from the administration for children and families; the health resources and services administration; the office of planning, research, and evaluation; and other federal agencies.
Asthvi collected information about implementation of the miechv program in states and tribes, and the implications of proposed policy changes, in order to provide non-lobbying information to policymakers. Asthvi prepared written responses to questions asked by congressional committees and participated in briefings for policymakers. Asthvi supported and provided assistance to State and Tribal administrators participating in hearings and briefings to provide information regarding Home Visiting in states and tribes
Asthvi other smaller activities for the education and support of asthvi core mission and values.
