Program areas at AWID
Resourcing feminist movements ("rfm") responding to the moment of political repression and new forms of organizing arising from shifting contexts, our work in this area will not only focus on better and more financial resources from diverse donors, including bilateral financing of gender equality, but also explore, exchange and strengthen how movements are organizing in response to this context, the resources they require to accomplish meaningful change, and the resourcing models they are using. We intend to contribute to shaping funding models that are movement responsive, and that in turn re-center how we understand change towards approaches that utilize and harness the power of feminist movement building knowledge. We are committed to developing collective strategies and mechanisms that (continued in sch o) contribute to better alignment of donor funding with the priorities, constituencies and strategies of feminist Women's Rights, and gender justice movements.
Building feminist economies: challenging corporate power ("bfe"): this initiative works to amplify feminist visions, existing feminist practices and agendas for just economies; to challenge corporate power and impunity, as well as the corporate capture of global policy processes; and to strengthen and support feminist, Women's Rights and gender justice movements and whrds in their work to challenge corporate power and extractivism. Working specifically on extractivism, tax justice and corporate accountability, areas we identified as strategic for achieving economic and gender justice, this initiative will work with our priority movements to build greater knowledge of the scale and scope of corporate power, expose the implications of corporate capture, and influence and advocate for corporate (continued in sch o) accountability and equitable distribution of wealth.through this work we will enable feminists, Women's Rights, gender justice and allied organizations to share and exchange strategies and amplify feminist proposals and realities for just economies in global movement and policy spaces
Advancing universal Rights and justice. Uprooting fascisms and fundamentalisms ('aurj') this initiative aims to promote the universality and indivisibility of Rights, advance Women's Rights and feminist agendas and challenge fundamentalist and fascist influence and actors. Through this initiative, we produce knowledge to visibilize the ways in which anti-rights actors are operating and colluding in global spaces. Equipped with this knowledge, we also create space for feminist, Women's Rights and gender justice movements and allies to strategize and take collective action to counter the influence and impact of anti-rights actors and agendas. Our advocacy seeks to advance feminist, Women's Rights and gender justice frameworks, norms and proposals and to protect and promote the universality of Rights.
