Ascension Living Via Christi Village Manhattan

The filing organization is a part of the Ascension catholic health ministry. Ascension is a faith-based healthcare organization that delivers personalized, compassionate care to all, especially to those who need it the most. Via Christi Village Manhattan is a continuing care retirement community, which includes a skilled nursing facility (snf). Our snf, inspired by the healing mission of the catholic church to the elderly, provides a continuum of care to residents that maximizes dignity and independence. Rooted in the catholic tradition of caring, as a corporate member of Ascension health senior care, our community is continually developing and adopting new best practices in care that enhance the experience of our residents, program participants and patients. The staff is committed to promoting the well-being of those we serve through the delivery of quality care. The snf has 93 beds with an average occupancy of 86. In fy 2023, 17,226 days of care were provided to medicaid recipients, 1918 days were provided to veteran recipients, 3955 days were provided to medicare recipients. The community offers discounted care to persons without adequate financial means to pay for services, which includes participation in medicaid, medicare, champus, tricare, and other government-sponsored health care programs. For those medicaid residents served, we were reimbursed approximately $143,981 less than our costs. The snf also provided $24,351 in other programs for the poor and vulnerable in the general community.
