Since 2015, Alexian Brothers Health System (abhs) has been part of amita Health, which is a joint operating company formed by ascension Health (ascension) and adventist Health System sunbelt healthcare corporation (advent). Amita Health's mission is to extend the healing ministry of jesus by respecting the faith traditions of the many individuals and families it serves across the chicagoland area. Through partnerships with our associates, physicians and the community, we identify and develop effective responses to the Health and housing needs of those we are called to serve. Alexian Brothers Health System (Alexian) is a ministry organization of ascension Health, the largest catholic Health System in the nation. The Alexian Brothers Health System provides the community with a full range of comprehensive healthcare services and access to the most advanced medical technology. We are passionate about delivering exceptional Health care and are proud of the powerful, cutting-edge technology our skilled professionals are able to access. In addition, we offer a wide range of community Health services, corporate wellness programs, preventive care and education. Our ministries exist to continue the Alexian Brothers mission of caring for the sick, the poor and the dying and promoting the physical, mental, spiritual and social Health and well-being of all individuals we serve. As part of the ascension catholic Health ministry, the filing organization served in support of ascension's commitment to both care for patients and communities and support caregivers and other associates through the challenges of the covid-19 global pandemic. Effective april 1, 2022, advent and ascension disaffiliated from amita Health, the joint operating company, but both continue to operate their individual hospitals and care sites in the chicagoland area.
