The Alamance Partnership for Children is a non-profit organization serving children and families in Alamance County. The Partnership administers Smart Start and NC Pre-Kindergarten funds, an early childhood initiative designed to ensure that young children enter school healthy and ready to succeed. Everyone in the community has a stake in the well-being of our children. Eighty percent of brain development happens before children turn five, so helping young children thrive is the best investment we can make in our community.

Program areas at Alamance Partnership for Children

Nc pre-kindergarten programoffers a high quality pre-kindergarten experience to four year-old Children.
Child care and education qualityprograms help early education and child care facilities reach and maintain the highest possible quality of services for young Children. Help families access and afford child enrollment in high quality early education sites and help early educators improve their education and wages. Programs include: child care resources and referral and wage$ salary supplements through state contract.
Family supportprograms support parents of young Children during this critical period of child development by educating them about developmentally appropriate strategies for effective discipline and the promotion and teaching of effective literacy practices. Programs included: parents as teachers, community outreach and education, reach out and read, dolly parton's imagination library, incredible years and kaleidoscope play and learn.
Health and safetynutrition and physical activity services to improve knowledge, practices and policies of nutrition and physical activities were provided to childcare providers and parents. Programs include: be active kids (outdoor learning environment).
Program planning, coordinating and evaluationincludes quality improvement and quality assurance including data collection and information management, monitoring, evaluation, technical assistance and training to support effective implementation of programs and strategies to service providers and grantees.
