Program areas at Adaptive Action Sports
In 2022, AAS largest service accomplishment was its Outreach/Pubhlic Education program, which redesigned/updated our website (www.adacs.org). In addition, six videos -- each of which highlighted the efforts and accomplishments of an AAS athlete -- were produced. These videos can be viewed on the AAS website.
The 2nd largest AAS program in 2022 was its Snowboard Racing Competition Program, in which AAS athletes competed in international World Cup/IPC programs. The races AAS competed in were held January 2022 in Norway and in February and December in Big White, Canada.
Other program service accomplishments include At Home Snow Training, National/Regional Snowboard Competitions, and various non-athletic events.
In 2022, several non-snow board events were held. Two were skateboarding: 1) a Dew Tour Skateboard competition, held in Iowa with expenditures in the amount of $5,411 and 2) a Toyota Skate event, held in December in Los Angeles ($794). In addition, at the end of 2022, AAS spent $1781 to begin planning a USA Skateboard National competition at which adaptive and non-adaptive riders will be represented. In June 2022, AAS hosted a Hawaiian Surf event at which eight AAS athletes, two long-time AAS volunteers and the AAS coach participated. The cost for this event was $12,682.
