100 Black Men of Cleveland Incorporated

We received a $25K grant from RBC Capital Markets to employ a Saturday Academy for inner city/underserved youth in the Cleveland Metro Area. We utilized the funding to host 50 mentees one Saturday per month to focus on areas of mentorship, health and wellness, the arts, and job readiness programming. The program is offered to mentor young men/women, provide pathways to educational opportunities, network for future career opportunities, and drive financial capabilities, and provided information on health/wellness. The academy exists to mentor and train the holistic individual.

The 100 Black Men of Greater Cleveland held an annual Golf Outing geared towards raising money for various program expenses throughout the year.

Dollars and Sense Youth Investment Competition: The Chapter entered its specified mentee pool into the State Farm Dollars and Sense competition. The Dollars and $ense Youth Investment program (Dollars and $ense) is a financial literacy program sponsored by State Farm. This program was designed to provide high school students, grades 9 through 12, with the opportunity to learn and apply best practice strategies for saving and investing. The goal of this program was to help students understand basic savings/investment principles and to apply these standards in their day-to-day lives.
