African Research and Conservation Foundation

The mission is to foster conservation and an improved quality of hfe by collaborating with people in poor, rural South Africa to make sustainable change in their communities through access to education and healthcare and conservation educational programming. Education: we completed the phase I construction at nilhengelo primary school in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. We built four additional classrooms in a new classroom building and built a playground. Additional construction work was completed on the kitchen building and the toilet block building. The new buildings now house 5 grades - kindergarten through grade 4, two administrative offices and soon a library. We have also partnered with an organization to provide conservation education to the oldest children at the school each week. Healthcare we renovated an old building on the school site to be used as a medical clinic. We partner with an organization called south African medical expeditions (same that provides weekly medical services to the 150 children who attend nhlengelo primary school. The children receive a daily vitamin regimen as well as two ant parasite treatments a year as well as care for any other medical issues).
