Provide families, who reside in low income communities, quality and developmentally appropriate programs for early childhood. We currently hold a WV state license to provide care for 110 children at a time in the center. We operate from the hours of 6:30am to 11:30 pm. This allows parents to have care and services while working and attending school during non-normal business hours. The expense of utilities and rent for the child care center are one of the largest expenses. Providing services to children in WV requires a license through the WV DHHR. The regulations for the types of facility and facility safety measures are extremely important adding additional expense. We currently rent a center with the square footage to provide services for 110 children at a give time, but operate the center in many shifts. This allows the center to care for more than 200 different children in any given day. The facility also has a completely equipped kitchen. This allows our program to participate in the WV child nutrition program. Almost all of our funding is from the two WV government agencies which help provide services for low income children. The revenue for w DHHR is related to the building and also to employee payroll expense. Payroll is the second largest expense for our program. As stated before we receive funding through the ww agencies to aide low-income children and families so we must follow state regulations. One of the requirements is the staffing and child ratio we employee a small administration staff that also have the capability of working in the classroom with children and providing services to families. Our largest amount of staff are classroom providers. We also have kitchen, maintenance and administrative positions.
