Program areas at Ywca Oklahoma City
Certified by the office of the attorney general, Ywca Oklahoma City's c.a.r.e. Programs serve victims of domestic violence (dv), sexual assault (sa) and stalking who are seeking a life free from abuse. The c.a.r.e. Programs include the following services: crisis hotlines, advocacy, emergency residential shelter, and forensic nurse exams. These programs provide a wide array of wrap-around, multi-culturally competent and trauma-informed services for adult and child victims. During this fiscal year, 6,078 calls were made to our five 24/7/365 crisis hotlines. 2,410 clients received advocacy service to help clients regain choice, independence and self-sufficiency. Safety, food and shelter were provided to 405 clients through emergency residential services and 514 clients received specialized care and support along with a forensic exam. Our domestic violence victim assistance program provided 1,044 clients with courtroom advocacy.
Ywca Oklahoma City offers victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking h.o.p.e. Through programs which include healing, opportunities, prevention and education. Healing services include adult and child counseling and support groups. In this fiscal year, 93 clients received individual counseling and 370 people took part in survivor support groups. Through opportunities for group training and individual case management, 138 clients gained access to resources and tools to enhance their career skills. Our prevention services taught 801 youth about healthy relationships, boundaries and counsensual sex. Specialized educational opportunities and outreach services reached 4,617 people through programs addressing domestic violence and sexual assault at the community level.
