YouthBuild Newark's mission is to harness the intelligence and positive energy of low-income young people to rebuild their community and their lives. The program offers young people - ages 16-24 years old - the opportunity to earn a HSE while gaining on-the-job training for in-demand careers. Services are available to youth aged 16-24, with programmatic objectives that include re-engaging students who have dropped out of school and/or who's level of disengagement make them highly at-risk for academic and social failure, providing workforce development opportunities.

Program areas at YouthBuild Newark

Youthbuild Newark offers young people - ages 16-24 years old - an opportunity to earn a HSE (high school equivalency diploma) while gaining on the job training for in demand careers. Through the YouthBuild process young people can chart a new path to success surrounded by a supportive community committed to developing skilled leaders for the local workforce. YouthBuild core elements include leadership development, construction and other career pathways, support services, alumni success, and education.
WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT - Services are available to youth aged 16-24. Programmatic objectives include: re-engaging students who have dropped out of school and/or who's level of disengagement make them highly at-risk for academic and social failure, providing workforce skills and vocational training, and prioritizing community service as a means to acheive community revitalization.
CONSTRUCTION AND OTHER CAREER PATHWAY - YouthBuild construction program is designed to help young people complete their education, learn job skills., develop leadership abilities, and contribute to their communities.
