Program areas at Youth Education in the Arts
the usbands program - manages over 150 marching band and concert band festivals in 30 states. Included in all events is the inclusion of an adjudication system, an organization structure, and a central office to facilitate all operations. Over 850 marching and concert bands participate on the usbands program including over 8,000 students. Over 200,000 spectators and supporters attend these events, which were created to support the high school music programs of the united states.
the cadets 2 - a drum corps, based locally in allentown, pa that offers 128 young men and women a quality marching music experience - on a weekend only basis, the corps performs each weekend from june 15th through labor day weekend. Life lessons are emphasized as well as commitment to quality. Cadets 2 are in their sixth year of existence and have placed in the top five each year; including a first place finish in 2016.
the cadets - one of the premier marching music organizations in the world, the cadets serve 150 young adults that perform 30 times in 20 different states. the cadets have accomplished winning positions in 10 world titles and 19 national championships. the cadets support growth of Youth through teaching and reinforcing critical life skills such as work ethic and cooperation. in addition, over 75% of the 150 cadets identify themselves as future music educators.
Program support, sponsorship income, and other revenue not directly allocated to major programs, including the urban Arts center of the lehigh valley (uac), drum corps shows, and other programs not directly related to usbands, the cadets or the cadets 2. (uac features a dance program for 163 youths from the city of allentown, pa. Classes are after school and weekends with performances periodically through the year. the program has been successful in engaging Youth in the Arts, in continued work for excellence, and in productive teamwork based activity.
