Program areas at Your Aging and Disability Resource Center

The Area Agency on Aging and its network of provider partners assisted more than 646,817 elders during 2018 with home and community based services, adult day care, counseling, education, congregate meals, home delivered meals, homemaking, transportation, and information and referral services.

The Agency provides "one-stop" system that integrates information, referral and eligibility determination functions to facilitate customer friendly access to long term care. The goal is to enhance individual choice and support informed decision making. The helpline is the gateway to publicly funded services.

The Agency has engaged seniors as volunteers. During 2018 shine (serving the health insurance needs of elders)49 volunteers provided one-on-one counseling to 3,999 seniors. Foster grandparent senior volunteers mentored and tutored 650 children pre-k through 3rd grade and the elder rights volunteer advocates helped 4,500 senior victims of crime.
